What We Do
BrainScape is developing an end-to-end solution to solve the many problems of current brain disorder management and care. Our aim is to advance and scale intensive monitoring and personalised care and spur new discoveries in brain science using our innovative Epios® technology and data analytics. Our MVP for brain monitoring is designed for easy, patient friendly, long-term use outside the clinic where it seemlessly fits into your life, whatever that may look like. Our tiny EEG recording system is a wearable placed under the skin where it is safe, out of the way and delivering a continuous, reliable recording of your brain activity, day and night. With state of the art monitoring we can build the next levels in care; neuofeedback and neurostimulation for personalised approaches and therapy based on the very same Epios® wearable technology.

Broad Applications
The Epios® technology uses a patent pending subscalp lead design that offers flexible configurations providing up to 32 channels, covering all cortical lobes. It can be in place for multiple years. The technology is unique in how many applications it can be used in.
Brain Monitoring
The Epios® technology records a broad range of normal and pathological brainwaves including Alpha, Beta, Theta, Delta & Gamma rhythms, supressions, epileptic seizure activity, sleep cycles, Event Related Potentials and Somatosensory Evoked Potentials.
Brain Interface
The Epios® technology is a minimally invasive option to provide a reliable and continuous EEG signal as input for neurofeedback protocols or interface systems such as BCIs and SCS-I* (Spinal Cord Stimulator Interface).

Performance
The minimal profile of the technology and comprehensive brainwave recordings makes it possible to use use this as an EEG system in many environments where classic EEG would not be possible. For example, in extreme environments, sport or unmonitored situations.
Pharma Studies
Companies wishing to develop neuroactive drugs or therapies can use the Epios technology for easy, continuous brain activity monitoring to support trials. Our system makes it possible to collect objective, reliable, intensive data on treatment responses or to determine and monitor titration of therapy.
Our Story
At BrainScape we are driven by one clear goal. Improve the way neurological and psychiatric disorders are treated and managed.

First we need to study the brain over long time periods and in the real world so we can collect data to analyse. Unfortunately current devices are not suitable for collecting such long term brain data in the real world in an unobtrusive and user friendly way. After seven years of development at the Wyss Center for Bio and Neuroengineering we now have the solution to long term, continuous brain monitoring. Epios is a minimal profile, 32-channel, subscalp system to be used outside the clinic. It is discreet, easy to manage, requires no maintenance and works continuously without disturbing your every day life, or sleep.
With this exciting milestone achieved BrainScape Medical SA was formed in 2024 in collaboration the Wyss Center to commercialise Epios®.
